Heading out on the Rio Grande River from the John Dunn Bridge area. I've painted this strech of the river a couple times in plein air and I'm always struck by the muted colors which bring a softness to such a rugged landscape. When I saw the colorful rafts it brought a spark to the scene that I found exciting.
